Levi Arbon Allen, born March 6, 1895 in Bradford, Tennessee, died February 18, 1958. He was the youngest child of Margaret Bell and Bevely Allen, and came to Wallowa, Oregon with his father in 1904. They took out a homestead on Smith Mountain where Arbon grew to manhood. He was married to Violet Hearing who survives him. 1929-2003 James Burn Allen, 74, formerly of Wallowa, died Sept. 25 in Western Oregon. A graveside gathering will be held Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Lostine Cemetery. Allen was born April 26, 1929, in Wallowa. He spent much of his younger years hunting, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Elvin Willard Allen died Jan. 30, 1996, at the home of his great-niece, Julie Wetzel. He was 93 years of age. He was born Feb 28, 1903 in Wallowa, the second son of Jess and Daisy Allen of Middle Valley. He lived on the family farm until the 1930’s when he moved to Newport. Wallowa, Wallowa County, Oregon Obit Bert Adams committed suicide sometime Thursday night in the county jail where Sheriff Rinehart had given him lodging for the evening. He walked down from the logging camp the night before and had been at the pool halls and other places during the day and evening. Ruth Ackerman, 41 and five children died Tuesday, November 29, when a fire leveled their log home at Priest River, Idaho. The father, William Ackerman, 48, thought his family was behind him when he rushed to the door but they weren’t. The minute he opened the door the house became an inferno.
