Edna Irene Harvey, 99, of La Grande, died March 19 at home. A service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Eternal Hill Cemetery in Oceanside, Calif. Family and friends may sign the guest book online at www.danielsknopp.com .
Edna was born Oct. 18, 1908, to Allan and Daisy (Cox) Reeves in Springhill, La. She married Leonard Burr “Buck” Harvey, and they lived in Gresham, Pendleton and Texas. In 1969, they moved to Oceanside. She was active in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Oceanside and with ladies’ organizations.
The couple loved working in their yard and always kept it beautiful. Her husband preceded her in death on March 13, 1999. Three years ago, Edna moved to La Grande.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol “Joyce” O’Connor of Carlsbad, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Myrna Stertz of La Grande; four grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her sons, Doyle Harvey and Dennis Harvey Sr.; and granddaughter, Judy Aldrich.
