Darwin L. “Harry” Harrison, 67, of Springfield died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, of esophageal cancer.
Recitation of the rosary was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Eugene. England’s Eugene Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Harrison was born May 11, 1935, in Hot Lake,Ore., to Albert and Alta Lund Harrison. He graduated from North Powder High School in 1953.
From 1955 to 1958, he served in the Seabees. He was a member of the naval Reserve from 1958 to 1963.
He married Barbara Brown in Victorville, Calif. on Aug. 23, 1958, and she passed away, April 2, 1997.
He worked 40 years in the construction industry. His interests included fishing, hunting, camping, sports and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Springfield Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his mother, Alta Ryan of Baker City; three daughters, Katherine Harrison and Grace Harrison, both of Springfield and Helen Collingwood of Eugene; a son, Paul of Springfield; three brothers, Larry Harrison of Ontario, Verle Harrison of La Grande and Bill Ryan of Baker City; a sister, Marilou Lindstrom of Pasco, Wash., and four grandchildren.
