3. WILLIAM2 BALLOCH (James) b. April 16, 1820; m. NOv. 6, 1844, Nancy J. Deming of Cornish, dau. Of Sylvester and Charlotte (Campbell) Deming, b. Nov. 1, 1823. Mr. Balloch d. Aug. 27, 1893. He was a man Of goOd gifts, being highly appreciated by his townsmen, as shown by being repeatedly chosen by them tO all the highest offices within their power. Children, all b. in Cornish:
i. ELLEN JANETT, b. Sept. 26, 1849; m. May 4, 1875, Dr. C. F. Leslie of Maine. They rem. to Clyde, Kan., where he is well established in the practice of his profession. Two children: 1. William Balloch, b. March 2, 1876. 2. Alice Belle, b. Sept. 2. 1880.
ii. JAMES EDWIN, b. Dec. 10, 1852; d. June 28, 1853.
iii. EMILY AMANDA, b. Sept. 17, 1854; m. Nov. 29. 1877; C. H. Bugbee of Bridgewater. They res. in Bridgewater. Had two children: 1. William Gates, b. Nov. 25, 1878. 2. Bessie Nancy, b. Dec. 2, 188O. Mrs. Bugbee d. Sept. 16, 1892.
iv. WILLIAM WALLACE, b. Oct. 29, 1856; m. Oct. 18, 1893, Mrs. L. A. (Read) Davis of Windsor, Vt., dau. of Hosea and Louise (Cady) Read, b. Sept. 1, 1857. Res. on the homestead of his father. Has served several years on the board of selectmen, and represented the town in the legislature of 1898.
v. MARY LOUISA, b. July 2, 1861; m. April 30, 1891, E. N. Holt of Hartford. They res. in Marshalltown, Iowa. No children.
