2. GEORGE WILLIAMSON2 BALLOCH (James1) was b. Dec. 26, 1798, in Cornish; m. Sept. 19, 1825, Amanda West of Claremont, b. in St. Albans, Vt., June 23, 1798, and d. at Washington, D. C., Dec. 22, 1876. Mr. Balloch was a tall, straight man of large and portly carriage. In “military times” he led the ranks of the Light Inf. for many years. His majestic figure, once seen there, was always remembered.
