Stahl, Dean Lee – Obituary

La Grande, Oregon

Dean Lee Stahl

Dean Lee Stahl, 54, of Boise and formerly of La Grande and Cove, died in a Boise care center Oct. 14. A memorial service will be at the Cove Cemetery at 2 p.m. Oct. 28.

Mr. Stahl was born April 19, 1952, in La Grande, the youngest of three sons of David and Lorna Dee Hallmark Stahl. He attended school in Cove and lived there most of his life.

In 1974, he moved to the Salem/Woodburn area but soon returned home.

In 1992, he moved with his mother and brother to Pendleton. He attended truck driving school and was a truck driver in Eastern Oregon. He enrolled in computer classes at BMCC in Pendleton and also earned his GED from BMCC. In 2005, he moved to Boise to be closer to his great-nephew David Stahl. While in Boise, he enrolled in Boise State University and was taking welding classes.

One of his favorite pastimes was spending time with his great-nephew David.

Together they would go to the movies or spend hours in the pet store at the mall.

Though Dean never had any children of his own, he cared for all of his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. He liked watching TV, playing chess and having his family around him. He was a jokester and was always kidding around.

Survivors include his brother, Don Stahl of Pendleton, two nieces, three nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Dave Stahl.
