Carrie Mae Gatson Shropshire, 78, a former Baker City resident, died Nov. 27, 2002, at Tualatin.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Finley-Sunset Hills Mortuary in Portland. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Shropshire was born on Oct. 14, 1924, at Claremore, Okla. She married Ben Shropshire in 1983. He died on July 17, 1998.
She was a devoted wife and mother, Brownie Girl Scout leader and an active member of the Beaverton Church of Christ.
She had been a Portland-area resident for the past nine years and had previously lived at Baker City and John Day. She loved cooking, fishing and being a grandmother.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharron Black, Paula Turner and Caron Thomas; two sons, James H. Shropshire and Ben M. Shropshire; a sister, Dorothy Davis; a brother, Charles “Hershel” Patton; 11 grandchildren and six step grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild; and three step great-great-grandchildren.
