Lawyer, Brian Wayne – Obituary

Brian Wayne Lawyer, 18, of Boardman and North Powder, died Nov. 10, 2000, at his home in Boardman.

His memorial service was Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in North Powder. Inurnment of cremains was at the North Powder Cemetery.

Mr. Lawyer was born Dec. 12, 1981, at La Grande to Rick L. and Connie Schwabrow Lawyer. He grew up in North Powder. He recently had lived in both North Powder and in Boardman where his parents own homes. He was a member of the Laborers Union Local No. 121 at Hermiston.

He loved to play baseball and was on the Babe Ruth All-Stars in Baker City and La Grande. He once made an unassisted triple play in T-ball. He loved all sports, hunting, the outdoors, four-wheeling and snowmobiling.

He also was a mechanic who liked to work on old cars and pickup trucks. He was loved by all who knew him.

Survivors include his parents, Rick and Connie Lawyer of both North Powder and Boardman; grandparents, Melvin W. and Joyce Lawyer of North Powder and Wayne H. and Brenda Schwabrow of Boardman; great-grandmother, Jessie Hopper of Viola, Ark.; aunts and uncles, Janet Jordan, Grant and Vickie Pedro, Bonnie Schwabrow, Susan Schwabrow, Sherry Schwabrow, Brad Schwabrow and Rusty Christiansen; cousins, Chris Jordan, Curtis Pedro, Chelsi Pedro, Jessica Pedro, Andrea Terry, Bubba Terry, Michelle Terry, Kelly Lieb, Danielle Jones, Kayla Vierra, Alexandra Youngstrom, Christopher Christiansen, Daniel Christiansen, Rusty Christiansen Jr., Tyler Schwabrow, Justus Schwabrow, Oceana Schwabrow and Cyan Schwabrow; and many other aunts, uncles, second cousins and other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the formation of a K-9 Drug Task Force Unit in Union and Morrow counties through the Union or Morrow County sheriff’s departments.

The Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
