Julia M. Fosnot, 90, a lifelong Baker City resident, died Nov. 21, 2000, at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center.
Her funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Coles-Strommer Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert C. Irwin of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral officiating. Private interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Fosnot was born Aug. 30, 1910, at Baker City to Henri and Marie (Standaert) Wallaert. She was raised in Baker City and received her education in the Pocahontas area. She married Waldo Fosnot on Oct. 6, 1928, in Baker County.
The couple were mill workers during the war time, and later they farmed.
Mrs. Fosnot’s parents came here in 1909 from Belgium. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
Mrs. Fosnot is survived by a daughter, Marion Ray of Baker City; grandchildren, Steven Grende of Oregon City and Sandra Kiplinger of Gresham; great-grandchildren Tina, Troy, Travis, Kip and Kate; and great-great-grandchildren Jonathan, Sarah, Rebekah, Sharon, Melanie and Melissa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Waldo, who died in 1984.
