Sedonia M. Wire, 93, of Lebanon died Sunday May 11, 2003, at Twin Oaks Care Center in Sweet Home.
A graveside service was held Thursday, May 15, 2003 at Providence Cemetery near Scio. Huston-Jost Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
She was born Oct. 21, 1909, in Portland, the daughter of Leroy and Anna (Burghardt) Davis. She was raised on a farm in the Lebanon area and graduated from Albany High School. During World War II, she worked at Fort Lewis, Wash.
On Oct. 8, 1943, she married Walter Wire. The couple moved to Lebanon then settled in Sumpter. Her husband died on Dec. 18, 1952.
She worked in Sumpter as the city clerk, as a substitute teacher and as postmistress. She returned to Lebanon in 1982.
She was a member of the Lacomb Grange, Order of the Eastern Star Alpine Chapter No. 82 and the Doll Collectors Association of Oregon.
Mrs. Wire is survived by niece Claudina Wilson of Lebanon; five great-nieces and nephews; and 15 great-great-nieces and nephews. Her brother Robert Davis died before her.
