Henry James Cathcart, of La Grande, formerly of Joseph, passed away Thursday, September 2, 1965 at St. Joseph hospital in La Grande, following several months of ill health.
Memorial services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Bollman Chapel with Rev. James E. Jones officiating. Mrs. Luella Miller was organist and Rev. Douglas T. Field was soloist and Sang “The Lord Is My Shepherd.”
Casket bearers were: S.W. Begley, Lou Knapper, Willard Prout, Carlyle Roundy, Earl Hovis and Kirk Hayes, and internment was in the Prairie Creek cemetery.
Mr. Cathcart, a retired merchant, had lived in Joseph for 18 years, moving to La Grande a few months ago. He was the son of James and Sara Cathcart and was born October 23, 1891 in Duncan, British Columbia.
Survivors include his wife, Eda, and one son, Jack, both of La Grande; one daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Barbara) Kinney, of Salem, Mass.; two sisters, Mrs. Jack (Hazel) McKinnon and Mrs. Doris Sawyer, and one brother, John Cathcart, all of British Columbia; and four grandchildren.
