DEA. JOHN6 WELD (Moses5, John4, Joseph3, John2, Joseph1,) was b. Jan. 4, 1752; m. Nov. 26, 1778, Deborah Plympton, b. Oct. 17, 1757; d. Sept. 10, 1830. He d. Jan. 22, 1834, aged 82. He was a thrifty farmer, a devout Baptist and a deacon of that church. He gave $500 to it in its early history, beside other gifts. He built the large brick house in 1812, afterwards owned by the town where their poor were kept. It is now owned and occupied by Freeman A. Johnson. Children, all b. in Cornish:
1. ELIZABETH, b. Oct. 5, 1779; m. April 11, 1805, Walter Jackson of Cornish (his second wife). Five children. (See Jackson.) She d. Sept. 11, 1855, aged 76.
2. DANIEL, b. May 27, 1781.
3. LUCINDA, b. Oct. 1, 1.783. Never m.; d. April 20, 1868, aged 84.
4. JOHN, b. Aug. 20, 1785.
5. WILLARD, b. Nov. 22, 1787.
6. MOSES, b. Sept. 22, 1789; d. April 9, 1879.
7. HORACE, b. Feb. 20, 1792.
8. EBEN, b. May 7, 1794. Was killed in battle at Williamsburg, Canada, Nov. 11, 1813.
9. MILTON, b. Nov. 26, 1796; d. Jan. 6, 1831.
