Wysong

Joseph Wysong, born December 2, 1858, in Urbana, Illinois, became the manager of Allertons Ranch in Nebraska in 1880. Orphaned early, he lived with relatives until he took charge of the ranch owned by his uncle, Samuel W. Allerton. Wysong married Nora E. Mitchell in 1881. The ranch spans over 13,000 acres, featuring ample facilities for livestock and crops, including 350 acres planted in corn and a herd of 150 cattle, with significant production of hogs for market.
