Biography of Henry Weinhard
Henry Weinhard, born on February 18, 1830, in Germany, immigrated to the United States in 1851, establishing himself as a prominent brewer. He worked in various cities before settling in Portland, where he bought the first brewery and eventually expanded his operations to become the largest brewery on the Pacific Slope by 1889. A successful businessman, Weinhard was actively involved in the community and contributed to local benevolence. He married Louisa Wagenblast and had two daughters.
