The series contains original affidavits of registration that record personal information about each registrant, their photograph affixed to the majority of documents, and the registrants fingerprints. All of these are specific to Kansas, and most have the actual documents attached.
Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Rhoda Minerva Walls was born in Raleigh County, West Virginia, Nov. 13, 1865. She departed this life 7:30 a. m. Feb. 8, 1931, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Henderson, at the age of 65 years 2 months and 26 days. She was united in marriage to J. J. Trump Feb. 2, 1888. He preceded her in death Dec. 13, 1900. To this union were born five children, three sons and two daughters, Oakey and Speed Trump of Wallowa, Beecher Trump of Choico, Mrs. J. W. Henderson and Mrs. Emett Cramer of Enterprise,
Elgin, Oregon James Elvis “Pete” Trump, 86, of Elgin died Jan. 5 in his home. A viewing for family and friends will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Loveland Funeral Chapel. There will be a private family graveside service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Summerville Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Stampede Hall in Elgin. Mr. Trump was born in Promise on Sept. 14, 1920, to Fred and Lula Sannar Trump. In the early 1930s the family moved to Elgin, where he attended school, graduating from Elgin High School in 1939.
Elgin, Oregon Pearl Louise Trump, 87, of La Grande and formerly of Elgin, died March 31 at a local care home. A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at the Elgin Seventh-day Adventist Church, followed by burial at the Elgin Cemetery. Viewing will be available from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 Seventh St., La Grande. Pearl was born March 25, 1920, to Allie Mable (Norton) and Herbert Jack Fisher in Wallowa. She followed two sets of twin girls. She grew up in southeastern Washington and attended high school in Creston, Wash.
Elgin, Oregon Jess Richard Trump Jess Richard Trump, 83, died June 4 at his home in Elgin. A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at the Elgin Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Daniels Chapel of the Valley, La Grande. Mr. Trump was born March 22, 1924, to Lacey and Lula (Lyons) Trump in Wallowa and graduated from Elgin High School. During World War II he served with the Army until being honorably discharged in 1945. On July 5, 1946, he married Deloris Jean Read. Jess worked as a machinist and welder in Portland until he retired
Compiled military service records for 1,235 Rough Riders, including Teddy Roosevelt have been digitized. The records include individual jackets which give the name, organization, and rank of each soldier. They contain cards on which information from original records relating to the military service of the individual has been copied. Included in the main jacket are carded medical records, other documents which give personal information, and the description of the record from which the information was obtained.
