This ledger contains the church record of the Madison Circuit of the Delaware Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, which was an African American church in Dorchester County Maryland that included Malone Church. While the Malone Church member lists, probationer lists, and minutes date between 1883 and 1939, the Madison Circuit baptismal and marriage records date between 1883 and 1893. These records include significant information about church members including places of residence and parent names.

Logan County, Kentucky Wills – Book A, with index

The wills in this book come from Book A of the Wills found at the Logan County Court house in Russellville, Kentucky. The information was extracted in 1957 by Mrs. Vick on behalf of the DAR located in Russellville. The text in this book was done with an old manual typewriter and has the usual faint and filled-in type often found with such papers. On top of the difficulty in interpreting the print from the typewriter, the scanning process was also deficient, and led to the creation of a faint digital copy exacerbating the difficult to read text.

Major, 2nd Btn., 322nd Inf., 81st Div. Born in Wilson, N.C.; the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Tilghman. Husband of Mrs. Margaret Tilghman. Entered the service May 12, 1917, at Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga. Was sent to Camp Jackson, S. C., and from there to Camp Sevier, S. C. Sailed to France July 30, 1918. Promoted to rank of Capt. Aug. 15, 1917, and to rank of Major July 8, 1918. Fought at Argonne. Received the French Cross of War March, 1919. Mustered out at Camp Lee, Va., June 26, 1919.

Wintergreen Cemetery, Port Gibson, Mississippi

This survey of Wintergreen Cemetery, Port Gibson, Mississippi, was completed in 1956 by Mr. Gordon M. Wells and published by Joyce Bridges the same year. It contains the cemetery readings Mr. Wells was able to obtain at that date. It is highly likely that not all of the gravestones had survived up to that point, and it is even more likely that a large portion of interred individuals never had a gravestone.
