Biographical Sketch of Thomas Regan

Thomas Regan was born in Cork County, Ireland, and immigrated to America in 1854, eventually settling in Connecticut. He moved to Chicago in 1865 and to Jones County, Iowa, in 1868, before relocating to Mondamin, Harrison County, in 1870, where he initially engaged in wagon making until 1879. Regan then entered the general merchandise business. His wife was the first milliner in Mondamin, starting her business in 1870, and their daughter Mary was the first child born in the community.

Timothy Regan, born in Rochester, New York, in 1843, immigrated to Idaho in 1864, significantly contributing to the state’s mineral development. His experience began in mining, evolving into successful ventures in business, including ownership of notable mines like the Oro Fino and Golden Chariot. Regan also promoted local industries, such as the Hot and Cold Water Company, and played a crucial role in the Boise City National Bank. A Democratic stalwart, he married Rose Blackinger in 1878 and has two sons. Regan remains a respected community figure and Masonic member.
