George Madison Emmons, 80, passed away at his home in Baker, Oregon, on Saturday. Born in Carthage, Illinois, on October 5, 1880, he moved to Oregon at age five and worked as a farmer across several counties. He married Pearl Akins in 1902, and together they had a family that included a daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Services were held at West and Company Chapel, with interment at Mount Hope. He is survived by his wife, family members, and friends.
Erma Mae Nutt, 72, of Halfway, Oregon, passed away on January 28, 1980, at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital. Born on May 2, 1908, in Enterprise, she worked in various roles, including at a doctor’s office and Basche Sage Hardware. She married David Bill Nutt in 1960 and was actively involved in her community, including cleaning the Presbyterian Church. Services were held on January 31, 1980, at the Halfway Presbyterian Church, with interment following at Pine Haven Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter and grandchildren.
