Biographical Sketch of F. M. Naylor

Francis Marion Naylor was born on October 11, 1829, in Bath County, Kentucky. He was the son of Ignatius and Susan Kerns Naylor. After migrating to Platte County, Missouri, in 1849, he married Sarah A. West in 1854 and focused on farming. He briefly served in the Missouri State Militia during the war. By 1864, he settled on a productive 160-acre farm where he lived with his wife and three children. Naylor was active in the Christian Church and the Jamesport Lodge No. 201, A.F. & A.M., and identified as a Democrat.
