Biography of George M. Jasper

George M. Jasper, born on January 26, 1865, in Benton County, Oregon, is a prominent figure in Union County’s agricultural community. His family, pioneers from Missouri, settled in the region in 1868. Following his education, Jasper established a successful farming operation, acquiring extensive land near Cove. Married to Ella Boswell, he has two children. Known for his integrity and work ethic, Jasper has contributed significantly to his community and is regarded as a respected and capable citizen.

Jasper, Edward – Obituary

Edward D. Jasper, aged 53, passed away on Wednesday due to pneumonia after a two-week illness. His funeral will be held on Saturday at the Presbyterian church, with burial at Island City cemetery. Originally from near Elgin, Jasper was a La Grande high school and University of Oregon graduate, and served as a trustee and elder in his church. He is survived by his wife, son Donald, three daughters, and brother Frank.

Frank Jasper, 85, of Ukiah, California, passed away due to an extended illness. A retired farmer and minister, he had previously lived in Wallowa and Union counties, where he was active in local organizations. His funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday at Dempseys Funeral Chapel, with burial at Summerville cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Lina, a son, Dr. Herbert Jasper, and two daughters, Clara Simerville and Grace Frye.

Jasper, George M. – Obituary

George M. Jasper, aged 75, passed away at his home in Meridian, Idaho. Originally from Corvallis, he spent much of his youth in Cove. His funeral will take place on Sunday afternoon at Snodgrass chapel. Mr. Jasper is survived by his wife Ella Boswell Jasper, three daughters, Ora and Gladys in San Jose, California, and Vina in Meridian, as well as a son, Terrell. He was also an uncle to Mrs. Frank Conley from Cove.

Jasper, Ella – Obituary

Funeral services for Ella Jasper, aged 80, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Summerville cemetery following her passing in Meridian, Idaho. A long-time resident of Union County, Mrs. Jasper was born to pioneers David and Mrs. Boswell. She is survived by four children, a sister, and additional relatives. The public may pay respects from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the cemetery chapel prior to the service.

Jasper, Lina – Obituary

Mrs. Lina Jasper, aged 80, passed away in Lakeport, California, following a prolonged illness. She was a former resident of Union County and a retired homemaker. Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday at 2 p.m. at Summerville Cemetery. Lina is survived by her son, Dr. Herbert Jasper of Montreal, and daughters Dr. Clara Simerville of Corvallis and Grace Frye of Ukiah. Her husband, Frank Jasper, predeceased her in 1966. Arrangements are handled by The Dempseys Funeral Chapel.
