Portland (UPI) – Funeral was to be held today for Samuel L. Burnaugh, 91, a former mayor of Enterprise and ex-state representative from Union and Wallowa counties. He died Friday. Summerville, Union County, Oregon Native of Union County Dies Joseph Merrill Burnaugh, 63-year-old farmer of Summerville, died Sunday, Dec. 26, at a local hospital following a long illness. Elgin, Union County, Oregon Andrew Burnaugh, who was operated on Wednesday evening of last week for a bad case of appendicitis, died Saturday evening, notwithstanding the fact that his physicians did everything possible for him. Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church Monday morning, the discourse being delivered by Elder Mayfield. Enterprise, Oregon Dorothy “Dottie” Lillian McGowan Burnaugh, 96, died March 16, 2004, in Eureka, Calif. She was born Aug. 4, 1907, in Enterprise to Claude A. and Olive (Boswell) Lockwood. While growing up in Enterprise, favorite childhood memories included entertaining the neighborhood by playing the piano with Orva and Bernice McFetridge on violin. She also won the Charleston dance contest in high school and played piano for the silent movies. Mrs. Emma Burnaugh, 76, died Saturday in a La Grande hospital following a long illness. Funeral rites will be held in the Summerville chapel tomorrow morning at 10:30, under auspices of the Snodgrass Funeral home, Rev. Gene Robinson officiating.
