Byron M. Britton, born on September 3, 1833, in Gananoque, Ontario, is a prominent barrister with a successful legal career spanning over two decades. Educated at Victoria College and called to the Bar in 1859, he established a thriving practice in Kingston. Recognized for his legal acumen, he was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1875 and served as a Bencher of the Law Society of Ontario. Actively involved in local governance and education, Britton is a Liberal and a Methodist, married to Mary Holton, with whom he has eight children.

Biography of Asa Britton

Asa Britton, born April 30, 1763, in Raynham, Massachusetts, was a significant figure in Chesterfield’s development. He moved to Westmoreland, New Hampshire, in 1771 and later married Sally Keep in 1788. After residing in Lansingburgh, New York, they settled on a farm in Chesterfield, where Britton became a prosperous businessman and community leader, managing multiple ventures and serving in various public roles. He had four children, three of whom reached adulthood. Britton passed away on June 30, 1849, and his wife followed in 1859.

Britton, Charles Howard “Chuck” – Obituary

Charles Howard “Chuck” Britton, 84, of Baker City, passed away on February 26, 2004. His funeral will be held at Coles Funeral Home, with interment at Mount Hope Cemetery. Born on September 3, 1920, in Wyoming, he married Vivian Vondra in 1939 and later established Britton Equipment Co. in Baker City. Chuck was instrumental in pioneering irrigation practices in the area and enjoyed various recreational activities. He is survived by four children, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Pathway Hospice.
