Biography of Rev. Micail Boomer, LL.D.
Rev. Micail Boomer, born January 1, 1810, in County Down, Ireland, was the son of a lineage tracing back to Huguenot ancestors. He was educated at Belfast Royal Academic Institution and Trinity College, Dublin, where he earned an LL.D. in 1860. Emigrating to Canada in 1840, he served as a missionary in Galt for over thirty years, significantly expanding the Episcopal community. In 1872, he became Dean of Huron and Principal of Huron College. He is married to Harriet Roche, an accomplished author.
