Diona; was born in Licking Co., Ohio, Oct. 23, 1824; in the year 1838, his parents, John Adams, who was a native of New York, and Susanna Adams, a native of Maryland, moved to Coles Co., and settled on Sec. 17, where the son now resides, having entered the land; both died there, his mother in October, 1877, and his father, June, 1878. C. Sailed for France in August, 1918. Fought at St. Mihiel, Meuse, Argonne, Sedan. Returned to U. S. A. Sept. 5, 1919; landed at Hoboken, N. J. Mustered out at Camp Lee, Va., Sept. 24, 1920. Wallowa, Wallowa County, Oregon Obit Bert Adams committed suicide sometime Thursday night in the county jail where Sheriff Rinehart had given him lodging for the evening. He walked down from the logging camp the night before and had been at the pool halls and other places during the day and evening. Sheriff Rinehart who had been asked to keep a watchful eye on Adams, told him he might just as well sleep in one of the beds in jail, he finally accepted the invitation. Some time between 1766 and 1768, Alexander Campbell removed from Damariscotta to Steuben, and built a mill at Tunk, now called Smithville, on the east side of the river. It was the first mill there. In 1759, he married Betsey Nickels, who was born in Ireland and came to Lynn, Mass., with her parents when about six years old. From Lynn, she came with her brother, Capt. William. Nickels, to Damariscotta. Children of Alexander and Betsey Campbell were: James, Frances, Hannah, Peggy, Polly, William, Samuel, Alexander, and Betsey.

Tombstone inscriptions from relocated cemeteries

The dam that impounds the North Fork of Pound Reservoir is situated on the North Fork of the Pound River, approximately 184 miles upstream from the mouth of the Big Sandy River and 1.1 miles upstream from the mouth of the North Fork in Wise County, Virginia. Construction of the dam commenced in 1962. Cemeteries located above the dam and within the impoundment areas were relocated to higher ground, respecting the preferences of the closest living relatives. Detailed records of these relocations are provided here, including the names of the nearest kin at the time of each grave removal.

The Bacon Family Genealogy descends the Bacon family tree through the children of Ralph Bacon, 2nd. Ralph was born in New York State abt the year 1777. At the age of 17, about the year 1794, he traveled to Painesville Ohio. Eventually acquiring some land there, he would marry Mary Jourden in 1801. In 1820 he moved his family to Crawford County, Ohio, owning houses and land in the townships of Liberty and Whetstone. His wife died 5 Oct 1845, he died 15 Jun 1849. This union would produce 13 offspring, twelve of whom would marry and raise families of their own. This Bacon Family Genealogy is their story.
