Stephen Ray Williams
Stephen Ray Williams of Elgin, 26, died at the University of Oregon Hospital in Portland on Saturday July 12, 1980, of injuries he received in a one-car accident just west of Enterprise on July 4. He was a resident of Wallowa most of his life.
He was born in La Grande on July 28, 1953, the son of Fred and Myrtle Williams. In 1957, he moved with his family to Wallowa, where he lived until approximately seven years ago.
On August 31, 1973, he was married to Linda Cameron in Elgin.
He was a log truck driver by occupation, and was a member of the Christian Church.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 17 (today) at Bramlett Memorial Cemetery, Wallowa, where he will be interred. Bill Miller of Elgin will officiate. Bollman Funeral Home is in change of all arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, one son, Andy Williams, and two daughters, Kristy Taylor and Erica Williams, all of Elgin; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Williams, Wallowa; two sisters, Mrs. Bob (Cherry) Taylor of Union and Mrs. Steve (Vickie) Hocker, La Grande; a grandmother, Mrs. Josephine Graf, Wallowa; a grandfather, George Gilmore, Portland; and other relatives.
