Jane Marie Noah, 59, died Jan. 26, 2008, of lung cancer at her home in Baker City.
At her request, there will be a gathering this summer with family, friends and those who loved and cared about her.
Jane was born May 20, 1949, at Shelton, Wash., to William and Maryanne Wells Champagne. She was raised in Portland and graduated from Cleveland High School. Shortly after graduation, she met David Noah who had just completed a stint in the Army. She and David were married at Vancouver, Wash., on April 12, 1974.
Jane and David began their married lives in Portland later moving to Rockaway Beach to raise their family. For years, they had traveled to Eastern Oregon to vacation, hunt and fish, hoping one day to make their home in Baker City. After their children were grown, the dream became a reality, and they moved to Baker City in 2002.
Jane was an accountant by profession. Her last place of employment was at MayDay Inc. of Baker City.
Throughout her life, Jane enjoyed time spent with her kids and family. She also really enjoyed shooting pool with her husband, David, and friends.
For those who were lucky enough to know Jane, they knew she always put other people first, her family said. She got great enjoyment out of helping others and seeing that their life was better, because she cared. She will be missed greatly.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, David; daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Jimmy Sullivan; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Megan Noah; two grandchildren, Jimmy and Emily; her father, William Champagne; sisters, Sherry, Glenna, Janet and Lynn; brothers, David and Lance; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to MayDay Inc. through Tami’s Pine Valley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 543, Halfway, OR 97834.
