Kloosterman, Johannes “John” – Obituary

Johannes “John” Kloosterman, 60, of Baker City, died Feb. 23, 2008, at his home surrounded by his family and special friends, Pastor Robin and Sue Harris, who offered great comfort to John’s family.

At John’s request, there will be no funeral at this time. A Celebration of Life service might be scheduled later.

John was born on Nov. 22, 1947, at Gronigan, Netherlands, to Jan and Henrietta Kamijion Kloosterman. In 1963 his family moved to America, taking up residency at Ogden, Utah.

In the late 1960s, his family moved to Grants Pass. In the late 1970s, they moved to Medford.

While living at Medford, John met the love of his life, Betty Boone. They were married on Nov. 20, 1982. They had two sons, Ryan and Phillip. John loved fishing, hunting, playing the guitar and, most of all, driving truck.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Chad Kloosterman.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; two sons, Ryan Kloosterman and his wife, Kaylee, and Phillip Kloosterman and Katrina; two grandchildren, Tanner and Andrea; two brothers, Herman of Grants Pass and Dean “Dino” of Eugene; four sisters, Lammie of Grants Pass, Gretchen of Springfield, Leta Bell of Grants Pass and Stientje (Stien) of Grants Pass.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church through Coles Funeral Home, 1950 Place St., Baker City, OR 97814.
