Union, Union County, Oregon
With feelings of sorrow we announce the death of Amos K. Jones, editor of the Oregon Scout and postmaster at Union, Oregon, which occurred at his home in Union on Monday night, January 2nd, 1900, from congestion of the lungs, the result of a previous illness.
He was a man who always appreciated a favor shown him, especially by members of the craft, and was ever ready and anxious to return it when opportunity offered. His death is a great loss to the newspaper fraternity of eastern Oregon and especially so to the people of Union and the Grande Ronde Valley generally, where he has for so many years labored so successfully in their interests.
Our most sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relations of our deceased friend, with whom we mourn in their sad affliction.
