Charles Jaensch Dies at Hospital

Charles Jaensch passed away at the hospital in Enterprise Tuesday afternoon. He has been in the hospital since Friday and had been failing for the past year.

Mr. Jaensch was born in Wausau, Wisconsin on August 1, 1886. He was married in Tacoma, Washington in 1911 to Josephine Reichmuth to which this union two sons were born. Charles Franklin of Portland and Joseph William of El Paso, Texas, two grandsons also survive. Mr. Jaensch spent most of his life in Wallowa county since 1919. He lived on Mud Flat for 2 years then moved to Enterprise where he lived for 4 years. The balance of his life until a year ago was spent on Alder slope.

Mr. Jaensch was a friendly man always jovial in spirit and maintained a charitable life even in the face of his last illness. He had a great many friends who will greatly miss his enthusiastic greeting and his kindly philosophy.

Here for the funeral Mrs. Charles Jaensch of Portland, Charles Jr. and son Gerald of Portland, grand son David Jaensch is an infant. Joe Jaensch of El Paso, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. James Bowen of Baker.

Pall Bearers were: Charles Litch (Litchfield?), Burl Kooch, Earl Emmons, Tom Fleming, Walter Strickler and Clarence Rose.
