June Poe Felkel, 81, of Baker City, died March 1, 2007.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m., Saturday at the Baker City Church of the Nazarene, 1250 Hughes Lane.
June was born at Mancos, Colo., in 1926. She married Orval Poe after graduating from high school at Mancos. They moved to the Northwest and settled at Baker City where they brought up their 10 children.
As the children left home, June became more active in the community. She worked for the state in social services, was a member of the Baker City Council and was involved in service clubs.
After Orval’s death she married Frank Felkel, who also preceded her in death.
June had a great love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing and bird watching, and she became involved with her grandchildren in Baker City.
Survivors include Leo and Gayle Poe of Baker City, Carol and Einar Traa of Cedar Mill, Jack and Charlotte Poe of Lewiston, Idaho, Linda and J.D. Lethlean II of Baker City, Donna and Jim Guelde of Meeteetse, Wyo., Ivan and Alice Poe of Baker City, Terry and Mike DeBruyne of Portland, Todd and Jean Poe of Phoenix, Ariz., Cindy Poe of Phoenix, Ariz., and Wade and Debora Poe of Baker City; and more than 30 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
