Bunch, Mary Hellen “Penny” Jacobson Mrs. – Obituary

Mary Hellen “Penny” Bunch, 54, of Baker City, died Feb. 21, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Health Services.

There will be a private family service later this spring.

Penny was born to Theodor and Marion Jacobson on Dec. 11, 1953, at Minot, N.D. In the late 1960s, they moved to Baker City where she married Herby Bunch in March of 1977.

Shortly after they married, Penny and Herby moved to Albany, where she worked many different jobs. They moved back to Baker in the late 1990s were she lived until her death.

Penny was a fun and charismatic woman with a wild personality, her family said. She loved to fish, camp, hunt and especially to play with her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her brother, David Jacobson; her father, Theodor Jacobson; her mother, Marion Thompson; her stepfather, Donald Thompson; and grandson, Trace Bunch.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert Bunch Sr. of Baker City; six children, Jenny Bunch and her husband, Russ, of Baker City, Lorry Bunch and her husband, Patric, of Baker City, Scott Bunch and his wife, Alice, of Baker City, Donald Thompson of Baker City, Misty Bunch of Pendleton and Hoss Bunch and his wife, Mandie, of Baker City; many grandchildren; great-grandson, Ashton; and sister, Becky Corduroy.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation through Gray’s West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave., Baker City, OR 97814.
