William Clive Bigley, 86, of Baker City, died July 30, 2002, at his home.
His memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Coles Funeral Home, 1950 Place St. Pastor Aaron Oglesbee of the Agape Christian Center in Baker City will officiate.
Mr. Bigley was born Dec. 23, 1915, to Clyde and Fern (Swan) Bigley. He was raised in and received his schooling in West Linn. He moved to Baker City in 1933. On Jan. 21, 1941, he enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve his country during World War II. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 30, 1945. On Nov. 30, 1946, he married Billie Rae Sievers in La Grande.
He worked as a ranch hand, seaman and lumberman during his life. He was a loving husband and father. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed spending time fishing for crappie on the Snake River.
He is survived by his wife, Billie, of Baker City; a daughter, Bunny Bigley of Hubbard; daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Don Copeland of Stevensville, Mont., and Beth and Dave Yeaton of Baker City; sons and daughters-in-law, Dick and Gladys Bigley of St. Johns, Ore., and Clyde and Georgy Bigley of Pueblo, Colo.; a sister, Marcella Anderson of Juneau, Alaska; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bigley was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one son, Bill Jr.
