  1. capt james built fort nisbet in darke county he built the first brick home in preble county ohio was son in law to col robert l Patterson fpounder of lexington ky and cingiati settled in dayton .william nisbet was james father ad col pattersons childhood best friend these to families were the first pioneers in lexington and cap patterson was under col daniel boone under generals louis ad clarke fought in the slaughter on blue lick ky in the battle of blue lick were daniele boone was captured at the salt licks near the mad river these two were a few of the survivors as most of the officers were killed
