Harris Winfield Hutchinson, deputy state grain inspector at Hutchinson, had been in the grain business the greater part of his active life and had as many and diverse qualifications for his present position as any one could ask. While he had lived at Hutchinson only a few years, he feels that the town had some specially intimate associations for him. Hilda Ellen Overton, 83, of Baker City, died July 30, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Health Services. At her request, there will be no public service. Hilda was born on May 10, 1925, at Washburn, N.D., to Andrew and Louise Pfiefle Schacher, who had immigrated from Germany. She was the third of 10 children. She attended school at Washburn and lived on a farm as a child. When they moved to town, she got polio. She had the disease three times and wasn’t able to talk until the age of 9. Frank Ferris Correll was born at Chenoa, Illinois on February 27, 1859. They lived in North Dakota and taught school in Mandan, North Dakota. When they came to Iowa, they came by train to Alta, Iowa. They were met by a bobsled with a pig in the back to keep their feet warm. They were taken to a farm near the Hanover community. They moved to Galva, Iowa, Ida County.
