Ettie Virginia Arnold of Enterprise died at the University of Oregon Medical Center in Portland on April 21, 1989.
She was born April 20, 1921, at West Jefferson, N. C., the daughter of Jesse and Nellie Lewis.
On Aug. 5, 1939 she married Quincy A. Arnold at Mount City, Tenn. The Arnold family moved to Enterprise in 1972.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Flat Grove Baptist Church. She loved making quilts, gardening, walking, canning, camping and most of all, attending yard sales.
Survivors include her husband, Quincy; two sons, J.R. of Enterprise and Jones of Lebanon, Penn.; and Merinda Downing of Enterprise; four brothers, Gwyn Lewis, Enterprise, Gene Lewis, West Jefferson, N.C., Coy Lewis, Cleveland, Ohio; sisters, Ollie Lewis, West Jefferson, N.C., and Clyde Dipple, Acron, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
