Charles Robert Shuey, 63, died suddenly at 6:15 p.m. yesterday [May 5, 1950] at his farm home four miles west of Ellensburg, apparently the victim of a heart attack.
Born in Missouri, Shuey came to the Kittitas Valley as a small boy. He lived here until 1920 when he went to LaGrande, Ore., where he was engaged in the contract log-hauling business. He returned here in 1942.
Shuey is survived by his wife, Lorraine; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Sloan of Bremerton and Mrs. Busick of Port Orchard; six sons, Tracy, Robert, Jackie, Gary and Bobby Shuey, all of Ellensburg, and LeRoy of Coulee City; three brothers, Abe Shuey of Spokane, George Shuey of Ellensburg, and Jim Shuey of San Francisco, and two sisters, Mrs. Flora Kling of Oregon and Mrs. Pearl Crooks of Idaho.
Funeral services will be held at the Honeycutt-Evenson Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. Hardwick Harshman will officiate and interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
