State Teachers College Yearbooks at Lowell, MA 1935-1974

The University of Massachusetts at Lowell digitized all 41 of the State Teachers College yearbooks provided by the senior class during the years of 1935-1975 and known as “The Knoll”. Yearbooks provide a window into student life. From sports teams to clubs, fashions to hairstyles, these volumes document the changing attitudes and culture of college students year by year.

State Teachers College was a public college located in Lowell, Massachusetts. Founded in 1894 as the Lowell Normal School, it was chartered as teacher training institution for women. In 1975, the college merged with nearby Lowell Technological Institute to become the University of Lowell. In 1991, the campus was incorporated into University of Massachusetts system as the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
