He had lived in California until the first of the year when he went to Oregon City, where he was manager of a store. Mrs. Geo. W. Conley Passes Rebecca S. Hooper was born near Baltimore, Maryland, May 25th, 1828, and died at Dayton, Wash., April 10th, 1920, at the age of nearly 92 years. With her husband, Geo. W. Conley, she came to Joseph in 1888 where he died in 1907. Ross Robert Hammack, 85, died on Nov. 27, 2004 He was born on Aug. 22, 1919 in Lostine to Floyd and Zelma Hammack, the youngest of six children. Ross graduated from Enterprise High School as president of his class and went to college at Oregon State University where he studied engineering. Union Barber Loses Life In Minam River H. D. Tallman, 40, a barber of Union, was drowned in the Minam River, near Minam while fishing in that stream Sunday. There was no one near enough to Tallman to tell what caused him to fall into the river. Whether a misstep caused his precipitation into the water or whether his death was due to a heart attack is not known.
