Enterprise, Wallowa County, Oregon Dies At Home John Wesley Sasser, a retired farmer, passed away at his home in Enterprise Tuesday, March 14, 1967, following several years of ill health. Funeral services will be held at the Bollman Chapel with Rev. Lester Wells officiating, and internment will be in the Enterprise cemetery. Time of the services are pending. Son of Abraham and Margaret Sasser, the deceased was born in Laurel County, Kentucky on January 9, 1897, coming to Wallowa county while young. Joseph, Wallowa County, Oregon Wanna drake passed away at the Wallowa Memorial Hospital in Enterprise on January 1, 1984. She was born on February 26, 1908 at Downey Lake, Oregon, daughter of Robert and Zula Wright. On January 1, 1927 she was married to Cecil Drake at Great Falls, Montana. Her husband preceded her in death in 1957. Mrs. Drake was born and raised in Wallowa County and spent her adult life as a homemaker. Enterprise, Oregon Harold Pat Lawrence Throop died May 6, 2007, at the Wallowa Valley Care Center. He was 89. Mr. Throop was born March 17, 1918, in Portland to Herrel R. Throop and Anna Throop Lynch. He grew up on the ranch of his parents, Anna and Charles Lynch. He graduated from high school there in 1936. Wallowa, Oregon Roberta Johnson Bird died Aug. 5, 2006, at the Odd Fellows Home in Walla Walla, Wash. She was 87. Mrs. Bird was born June 15, 1919, in Wallowa to William E. and Laura B. Johnson. She graduated with honors from Wallowa High School in 1936. She walked the five miles to Wallowa High School and returned daily unless some kind person gave her a ride. Cove, Union County, Oregon Isabel Frances Conley, 62, died June 10 at Grande Ronde Hospital following a brief illness. A Cove resident, she had been a teacher there and in Wallowa County. She was born Nov. 14, 1910 at Aumsville, the daughter of Edward and Katherine Heger. The family later settled in Joseph. Southwick, Arthur – Obituary

Wallowa, Oregon Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Southwick of Promise received word that their son, Arthur, who was a Corporal in Company A, 14th Infantry was seriously ill with pneumonia. They immediately left for Fort Dodge near Des Moines where he was stationed. Monday word came that he had died of pneumonia following an attack of Spanish Influenza.
