Bilyeu, George Henry

George Henry Bilyeu of Tekoa passed away on July 6 in Spokane. He is survived by his son, Roy Bilyeu; a sister, Mrs. Ed Lauritzen; a brother, Ed Bilyeu; and a granddaughter. Bean, Rufus Eusebeous – Obituary

Rufus E. Bean, a prominent civic and political figure in Umatilla County, passed away on April 5, 1947, from cerebral thrombosis. Born on January 1, 1876, in Missouri, he spent most of his life in Milton after a successful career as a telegraph operator and ranch owner. Bean served 12 years as a Umatilla County Commissioner, was mayor of Freewater, and held various roles in local businesses. He is survived by his wife, three children, eight grandchildren, and siblings. His funeral will be held at Freewater Federated Church.

Dull, Sarah J. – Obituary

Mrs. Sarah J. Dull, born on January 4, 1859, in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 28, 1932, in Tekoa, Washington. After two marriages, first to Mr. Thomas and later to John Dull, she moved west in 1890. A beloved figure in Tekoa, her funeral prompted local businesses to close in her honor. Mrs. Dull was affectionately known as Grandma Dull, with eight great-grandchildren and numerous relatives mourning her loss. She frequently visited her granddaughter, Mrs. Windom Carnes.
