Antles, Archer Alva – Obituary

Archer A. Antles, 76, passed away at his home in La Grande, Oregon. Born on September 2, 1910, in Nebraska, he moved to Cove as a child and graduated from Cove High School in 1929. He married Eleanor Davis in 1932 and worked various jobs, including farming and as a brakeman for the Union Pacific Railroad, until his retirement in 1966. Antles was active in his church and community. He is survived by his wife, son, grandsons, and other relatives. A memorial service is planned at the United Methodist Church.

Conklin, Helen – Obituary

Helen Janet Conklin, 70, of Cove, Oregon, passed away at her home. A resident since 1910, she was born on December 18, 1900, in Stanton, Nebraska. Helen married Thomas Richard Conklin in 1922, who predeceased her in 1970. She was active in the local Methodist Church and community organizations. Her survivors include a son, daughter, brother, sister, five grandchildren, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at the Cove Methodist Church, with burial at the church cemetery.
