1927 Radiator Yearbook, Somerville Mass

The Radiator which began publishing in the 1891-1892 school year, was initially published by the Somerville Latin and English High School on the third Wednesday of every month during the school year. It’s initial publications during those early years were more literary in style and it wasn’t until 1917 when the publication took on the appearance of a traditional yearbook in the form of The Revocanda with publication of The Radiator taking place separately. One year later, the name of the yearbook was changed to match that of the journal, The Radiator. Even in those early years consists in part with lists of students and class photographs. All of these yearbooks are free to search, read, and/or download.

The Keith family is one of the oldest of southeastern Massachusetts. Its founder in America was Rev. James Keith, born in 1644, who came to America, landing in Boston in 1662. He became minister of the Bridgewater Church, where he administered to the spiritual needs of the people for half a century. He died July 23, 1719. He was twice married. His first wife was Susannah Edson, daughter of Deacon Samuel Edson.

Throughout his life, he held various roles, including United States Examining Surgeon and member of numerous medical and social organizations. Dr. Currier experienced personal loss with his first wife’s death but remarried and had two daughters. Active in community service, he contributed to public health and education while maintaining a significant medical practice in Newport.

Charles Fairhurst, a promising young attorney from Greenfield, Massachusetts, serves as junior partner at Davenport Fairhurst. A graduate of Northeastern College Law School, he began his legal career at 16 and was admitted to the bar in 1917. Known for his expertise, he has represented cases in the highest courts and is recognized as one of the area’s leading young lawyers. Active in local affairs and various fraternal organizations, Fairhurst balances his profession with community service. He married Laura M. Crockett in 1921.
