Biography of Alexander McGregor
Alexander McGregor, born on July 1, 1807, in Perthshire, Scotland, emigrated to America in 1842 and settled in Morgan Township, where he developed a 535-acre farm through hard work. An active member of the Presbyterian Church, he prioritized religion and education throughout his life. He faced significant personal trials, including the loss of two sons in the Civil War, and his wife Margaret passed away in 1876. Despite health challenges from a palsy that confined him to his home, McGregor remains a respected figure in his community, cared for by his son John.
