Biography of Judge W. N. Evans

Judge W. N. Evans, born September 1, 1849, in Owsley County, Kentucky, serves the Twentieth Judicial District of Missouri from his home in West Plains. His early life was marked by service as a Confederate soldier during the Civil War. After the war, he engaged in teaching and farming before studying law, becoming a prominent criminal lawyer. Appointed circuit judge in 1891, he has maintained a reputation for legal acumen. A dedicated Democrat, he is also a Mason and involved in local banking and real estate. Evans is married with four children.
