U. S. Findley, an 82-year-old retired farmer from Macomb, passed away on February 26 at his daughter’s residence. He was a lifelong resident of Wright County, Missouri. Findley is survived by his wife, Linda, and several siblings, including Mary Deaver of California and W. D. Findley of Joplin. He was laid to rest at Ashley Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
William Arley Findley, 57, passed away on August 23, 1955, in Macomb. A World War I veteran and member of the Missionary Baptist Church, he is survived by his wife Myrtle, son Robert Dwayne, and siblings Harve, John, E.H. Findley, Cora Hart, and Susie Babb, along with three grandchildren.
Linda A. Findley, aged 80, passed away on March 1, 1953, at her daughter’s home, unaware of her husband U. S. Findley’s death just three days earlier. She was in a coma at the time and did not recover. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Claude Smith of Macomb, and half-sister Mrs. Della Findley of Mansfield. The Findleys had been married for 57 years, and they were honored with a double funeral.
James Harvey Findley, born April 1, 1878, in Wright County, passed away on March 8, 1959, at the age of 80. He married Minnie Coday in 1906, with whom he had four children, although one son died in infancy. He is survived by his son Homer, daughters Virgie Hensley and Christeen Schmitt, along with a brother and sister. His burial took place at Ashley Cemetery.
Susan M. Babb, a longtime resident of Visalia, passed away on January 6, 1992, at the age of 97. Born and raised in Macomb, Missouri, she married Harrison Babb in 1912 and moved to California in 1929, eventually settling in Visalia in 1957. A homemaker, she is survived by two sons, two daughters, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Hadley Funeral Chapel, followed by burial at Exeter District Cemetery.
Harrison McKinley Babb, 68, originally from Macomb, MO, passed away on April 19, 1959, in a Visalia hospital. A retired dairy rancher, he lived in Exeter and Tulare before settling in Visalia nine years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mary Susan, two sons, an adopted son, three daughters, three brothers, two sisters, and 16 grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at Hadley Funeral Chapel in Exeter, followed by burial at Exeter Cemetery.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ollie E. Findley, aged 61, will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Macomb’s First Baptist Church, following her death on December 19, 1954. The Rev. Ben Kimbrough will officiate, and burial will take place at Findley Cemetery. She is survived by her husband Harve, daughter Sylvia Pope, brother Fred Fry, and five sisters across various states. Arrangements are handled by Kelly Ferrell-Bergman of Mansfield.
Mrs. Nina Findley, aged 85, passed away on January 15, 1968, at Felkner Rest Home in Springfield, where she had lived for 22 years after relocating from Macomb, Missouri. A charter member of the Macomb Baptist Church, she is survived by her son, Guy H., a sister, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday at Greenlawn Funeral Home, led by Rev. Jim Jeffries, with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
