Lostine, Marion Hammack Is Called To His Rest Marion Hammack died at the Enterprise hospital Wednesday, February 28, 1940. He had not been strong for several years and had been helpless since he was struck by an automobile May 6, 1938. Funeral services were held in the Christian church at Lostine, Friday, and were attended by many friends and relatives, including all county officials in tribute and Commissioner F. W. Vera K. Fisher died Feb. 14, 1990, at the Wallowa County Nursing Home in Enterprise. She was born Nov. 21, 1895, at LaGrande, the daughter of Judson W. and Frances (Baldwin) Draper. On June 21, 1913, she married James E. Fisher in Enterprise. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1959. As a young girl, attending school in Lostine, she won the state spelling bee contest.
