Mrs. Jessie Nash Withrow, 78, of 2014 NW Glisan St., former switchboard operator for The Oregonian, died Thursday [September 4, 1969] at a local hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Withrow was born in Junction City, Sept. 13, 1890. She had lived in Portland for the past 60 years. She worked on The Oregonian’s switchboard for 23 years. She is survived by one brother, Ralph Phelps, Milwaukee. No services will be held. The family suggests that any remembrance be in the form of donations to Seeing Eye Dog Fund, P.O.
