La Grande, Union County, Oregon Charles W. Curteman, age 63, passed away unexpectedly Monday afternoon while at work at the Union county shops on Z avenue. Death was caused by heart disease. He is survived by his widow and two sons, Carl and Ray of La Grande, (a son Teddy passed away in July 1921); three daughters Mrs. Nellie Anderson, Mrs. Bessie Newberg and Mrs. Ethel Brown, all of La Grande; a sister, Mrs. Katie Millering, of La Grande, and by 12 grandchildren. Union, Union County, Oregon Silas Cunningham, age 80 years, died at his home in Union Wednesday night last at 11:45 o’clock. The funeral took place from Cock Bros., undertaking parlors at 1 p. m. Friday. The immedis old age. He had been a resident of this section about five years, and was the father of eleven children, nine of whom survive him, his wife having died several years ago.
