Mrs. Nevada Wood Stricken By Death Mrs. Nevada Wood, aged 70, resident of Baker county intermittently for more than 30 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.H. Myers, in North Powder at 7:30 o’clock Monday morning. She was the victim of a heart attack and died while dressing. For some time Mrs. Wood had been suffering from asthma but was apparently in good health otherwise. Mrs. Wood was born in Provo, Utah, August 5, 1855. Her husband, B.F. La Grande Man Is Killed By Train With both arms ground off close to his shoulders by a freight train from which he fell after signaling for a clearance at the Ora Dell viaduct, west of La Grande last Sunday night, N.R. Wood a brakeman, dragged himself from the rails and walked half a mile for help. His shouts aroused George Shimmel, and Wood was rushed to the hospital in La Grande. Wallowa County native Wayne Wilson, age 74, of La Grande, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1988 at Grande Ronde Hospital in La Grande. Wilson was born Dec. 23, 1913 in a buckboard wagon between Imnaha and Joseph, the son of John A. and Myrtle (Neil) Wilson.
