Wright, R. H. – Obituary

Died While Alone Wednesday the dead body of R.H. Wright was found at his home on Clover creek in the southwestern part of Union county and the indications are that he had been dead about three days before being discovered. The deceased was an old man about sixty six years old and was living alone for some time in his little cabin. Deceased was a brother of Mrs. Estes of Union. Wright, Peter – Obituary

Friends here noted with sorrow the passing Tuesday at La Grande of Peter Christopher Wright, well known in North Powder where he spent much time in years past in the logging business. He contracted and delivered logs to the Jacobs brothers mill here and shipped many carloads to Milton-Freewater. Mr. Wright was born in Wisconsin and was 49 years of age. He moved to Union county when a small boy and has made his home here ever since. He is survived by his widow and three daughters and other relatives. Near Summerville, Monday, December 18, 1905, Morris Wright, aged 51 years. Death resulted from pneumonia. The remains were interred in the La Grande cemetery Wednesday. Marinda Wright, One of Oregon’s First-Born, Dies Mrs. Marinda Jane Wright, 97, of lower Cove, one of the oldest native born Oregonians in the state and a resident of Union county for 73 years, died Saturday in a LaGrande hospital after a long illness. Emmett E. Woodruff died suddenly at his home five miles from Union at 5:30 o’clock last Sunday evening November 3. He was 68 years of age the 26th of October. He had been in poor health for some time but he was able to be up and around and his condition was not considered critical. He was born at Pickering Village, Ontario, Canada, October 26, 1861. Last Thursday Mrs. Dean (?) Woodell died at her home on Sandridge, after an illness from lung fever. Mrs. Woodell was aged about thirty years, and leaves a husband and a family of five children to mourn her loss. She was the daughter of Justice Collins, of Summerville, and a sister of Mrs. .N.
